TORIE TYSON started off the show, her showcase for The L.A. Music Awards, with a bang, and having lots of energy and beginning with a great song, "You Push Me Down." It got the audience excited and ready for this talented and fun rock 'n' roll band. The second song was another favorite, "Watch Where You Touch," and it kept the crowd dancing and singing along. One thing that struck me that's so great about this band is the fact they never stop moving; they put all they have into their show and are totally interactive with the audience. They really put on a show that's filled with great rock songs you can also dance to.
Torie's voice is not like the whiny girls of today either. She has strong vocals with a lot of punch and a southern thickness that almost gives off a gospel feel. Her voice is further harmonized by Gael MacGregor, the back-up vocalist who harmonizes with Torie perfectly and adds a smoothness and balance. The rest of the band members are also very talented on their respected instruments. They provide a great background of guitar, bass and drums. I highly recommend this band for an evening of fun and rock 'n' roll songs.
Torie Tyson's band is Torie Tyson, vocals; Alex Kane, guitar; Victor Sanchez, guitar; Garner Knutson, drums; Yell, bass; and Gael MacGregor on back-up vocals.
