TORIE TYSON, BRINGING ROCK N'ROLL BACK TO LA

Local LA singer Torie Tyson is creating a buzz at clubs in Hollywood that can be heard up and down the Sunset Strip. With a style that is clearly defined as straight up American rock n' roll, this up and coiniiigcoming rocker has the voice of Pat Benatar, the energy of Joan Jett, and the bravado of Deborah Harry. This is clearly evident in her self-released debut CD, You're Gonna Get It In The End.

Being a native of Chicago, Torie is the, daughter of a Copacabana singer who was discovered by Milton Berle. Her work has recently been praised by local publications such as Rock City News, Smash, and Music Connection, which selected her as one of "LA's Top 100 Unsigned Local Bands." Says Music Connection in a recent live review: "Torie Tyson is the ultimate bad girl looking for a little fun. She takes command of the stage, teasing and daring her way through the set, eliciting enthusiastic kudos from loyal followers."

On You're Gonna Got It In The End, there is clear evidence of a Rod Stewart/Faces influence and the vibe of the King himself, Elvis! Says Tyson, "Elvis knocked me off my feet." Tyson was also attracted to Presley's larger than life image, and 'star quality' - which is one thing you won't find too much of on today's rock and roll menu, cites Tyson.

After listening to a demo of her latest EP (untitled), I found the track "You Push Me Down" to be an awe-inspired ripper. Co-written/produced by her guitarist Alex Kane (ex-Life, Sex and Death guitarist), the heavy guitar riff truly opens up Tyson's vocal capabilities, The collaboration of Kane's crunchy guitar and Tyson's fearless vocals explode on this one.

With so many bands and singers trying to follow the latest trend or even starting their own. Tyson sticks to a formula that made parents tell their kids to turn down that damn radio in the first place. "I've never modeled myself after anyone. It's important to be true to yourself." Catch Torie Tyson at one of her live performances on the L.A. club circuit this summer, and you won't be disappointed.
