TORIE TYSON at Bar Deluxe

It was Hurricane Torie hitting Hollywood as she took the town by storm Thursday, September 24 with a dynamite show at Bar Deluxe. The club was dead when Torie started her performance, but by the time she had gotten warmed up, the crowd had begun to gather. Doing such crowd pleasers as "You Push Me Down", "User", "Rock Will Never Let You Down", "I Really Want You" and "When You Were Mine", Torie soon had the crowd eating out of the palm of her hand. In fact, several fans came up to the stage and took turns taking over the mic to sing Torie's praises. Indeed, Torie was in prime form as an entertainer, strutting her stuff onstage, kicking ass and taking names later, as well as taking time to come down into the audience to get close and personal with her fans.

Torie continues to build steam by attracting members of the music community. In fact, some Hollywood notables seen in attendance that night included KNAC's Radio Goddess, Diana DeVille, Jeff Duran of LA Rock Scene and Rock City News' very own beautiful Lily Raven.

While Torie commanded the people's attention, her band was on a roll behind her. Background vocalist Gael McGregor was a virtual mountain of sound, letting loose with a fury that would make Aretha Franklin weep with joy. Legendary guitarist Alex Kane shunned the spotlight, preferring to keep a low profile on the back of the stage while at the same time managing to shine by showing off his powerful chops. Drummer Garner Knutson came very close to stealing the show with his outrageous antics, including his Gene Simmons imitation not to mention his bashing the skins with a vengeance. Yell McGuyer (bassist) and Victor Sanchez (rhythm guitar) kept their personas low-key and the groove steady while randomly executing tandem moves reminiscent of ZZ Top.

Torie's next show will be Tuesday, October 13 at The Joint. You can get more information by calling Torie's hotline at (323) 960-5290 or by visiting her website at www.torietyson.com.
